SharePoint Application for Franchise Data Management

The Media and Communications industry leader needed to track, maintain and report on critical local data for more than 6400 local franchises in all major markets and provide a central, searchable document repository for over 30,000 documents.  A major requirement was that the new application must reside on their Microsoft SharePoint intranet.

Enable was engaged to architect and develop a Microsoft SharePoint application for over 700 users.  Our unique approach led us to deliver the client’s first successful outsourced Agile development project.  The application capitalizes on Microsoft technology to deliver a SharePoint front-end and new MS SQL database, after migrating data from an existing database.  A flexible reporting model was also created through Microsoft SQL Reporting Services for ad hoc user reporting.

The result of the project is a SharePoint application that engendered rapid user adoption with high satisfaction ratings.  Overall contract search and information discovery efforts are reduced dramatically, and an early warning system to alert users on expiring contracts was made available to improve efficiency.
